National Milk Day

National Milk Day is celebrated annually to honor the role of milk in our diets and its health benefits. This day commemorates the birthday of Dr. Verghese Kurien, known as the ‘Father of the White Revolution’ in India, for his contributions to the dairy industry. The initiative to observe this day was taken by India’s National Dairy Development Board in recognition of Dr. Kurien’s efforts in transforming India into one of the world’s largest milk producers.
